Dr. Lau moved to Edmonton from Hong Kong at age 15 and is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. She completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta and a Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 2009, achieving Dean’s List honors in both programs.
Optometry allows Dr. Lau to combine her love of science with her passion for helping others. She is dedicated to educating and caring for her community through exceptional, personalized eye care that emphasizes early diagnosis and effective treatment of both ocular and systemic conditions. She believes healthy vision is essential to overall wellness and strives to enhance each patient’s quality of life through comprehensive care. She has a special interest in dry eye management and customized myopia control for children, supporting patients of all ages in maintaining clear vision and long-term eye health. Dr. Lau finds it deeply rewarding to build meaningful, lasting relationships with her patients and their families. With her gentle and compassionate approach, she strives to ensure every patient feels comfortable, understood, and confident during each visit.
Giving back to the community is important to Dr. Lau. She has volunteered on international eye care missions with The Gift of Sight and supports local initiatives such as Kids Kottage, Edmonton’s Food Bank, and Santa’s Anonymous.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Lau cherishes time with her daughter and husband, exploring new recipes, traveling, running, and yoga.
